What is a mesh Wi-Fi system? A mesh system consists of a main router and satellite nodes that work as one network, all sharing the same Wi-Fi name and password. Devices automatically switch between nodes as you move around your home. This is different from a traditional setup with one router — mesh systems provide more consistent coverage across larger or multi-story homes.
What is Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax)? Wi-Fi 6 is the latest Wi-Fi standard, significantly faster and more efficient than Wi-Fi 5. It improves performance in crowded networks (apartments, offices) and with many connected devices. To use Wi-Fi 6 you need both a Wi-Fi 6 router and Wi-Fi 6 devices (phones, laptops, etc.). Older devices will still work but will not get Wi-Fi 6 speeds.
What is Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac)? Wi-Fi 5 is the previous standard, still widely used and faster than Wi-Fi 4. It is a good choice for most homes and supports a large number of devices. Newer devices generally support Wi-Fi 5 or better.
Can I use your router with my modem? Most routers and access points work with any standard modem (cable, fiber, or DSL). If you are unsure about compatibility with your ISP’s equipment, email us at support@meshhubgear.com before ordering with your modem model number and internet service type, and we can confirm it will work.
